How could our country have become what she is today if it were not the will and the leading of Almighty God?
The modern history of America began when a few religiously oppressed Europeans, primarily from England, were driven to extreme measures to escape religious oppression in a tiny ship across a perilous sea and into totally unknown and frightening circumstances in a completely unknown and primitive land peopled sparsely by uncivilized indigenous natives.
They gave up everything: every contact, association, and hope in their native land, including all hope for their future there, together with their homes, their life's work, and the love and companionship of every family member and friend they left behind. They did it because they valued their relationship with Almighty God and freedom above all. How it all turned out is a story which few would believe if we did not have the witness of history. Now, a mere 400 years later, the result is America, 2007!
How was this possible? We believe those pilgrims prayed for and received the guidance of God. One might say He happened to have a vacancy in The Western Hemisphere called North America, which they could call home. They moved right in and the rest, as they say, is history.
It’s amazing when you think about it. By the early 1600’s civilization had advanced a great deal over Europe, Asia, and to some extent over Africa and South America, where ancient peoples had achieved a relatively high level of social development. And yet, North America was still an unexplored wilderness!
Since then, The United States, which did not exist as an independent nation until the late 1700’s, has become the most powerful nation the world has ever known, militarily and economically.
How could all of this have come to pass in the short time The United States has existed (really just a little more than two centuries)? America was conceived in the minds of ordinary people yearning for freedom in an oppressive world. I think we can be sure they consulted the scriptures and we know they took bold action.
Could it be that God, ages ago, set aside North America as the future location for the greatest nation ever to exist on Earth?
What’s the one thing that all Americans can do for our country?
In these times, much of the world is seething with undisguised enmity and hatred of America, Christianity, Judaism, and God’s people everywhere. The age-old enemies of Christ have declared a bloody war on all who do not believe as they do. Their extreme rhetoric, together with their ever more outrageous acts of terror, make one wonder if this rising crescendo is a prelude to a terrible new era in our history or to the return of Jesus Christ.
We believe that America is not only, as we have said above, the most powerful nation the world has even known, but also that she is benevolent in intentions toward all other nations and peoples..
The seeds of liberty, planted in America nearly four hundred years ago by people seeking freedom above all, have flourished over the intervening centuries and have become the greatest force for peace, liberty, and justice since the coming of Jesus Christ.
What can you and I do? We can make it a habit to pray every day for our country, asking God to lead and guide us in these treacherous times, and to invite others to do the same.
Pray and Pass it On!
We believe that the vast majority of Americans agree with our evaluation of America’s position in the world and with our assertion that her intentions toward all peoples of the world are benevolent.
We believe that, like us, they are tired of the hatred for America which is being preached in so many parts of the world.
And we believe they are tired of being the target, along with our allies, of so many terrorist attacks around the world.
For these reasons, we believe that a well-organized campaign to solicit the prayers of all believing Americans and to ask them to "pass it on" is very timely and will result in a dramatic change for the better in the world.
Our plan is simple: spread the word far and wide in the age-old tradition of a grass-roots movement by communicating from person to person.
